Okay so I was wrong!

Okay, so I was wrong. It is not a wild turkey. It was our neighbors turkey and he went and turned it loose way up in the woods and it decided to find it's way to our house. It made itself at home. It hangs out with the chickens and eats their food. And it is not scared of people. When I walked right up to it, that was my first clue that it wasn't a wild one. My neighbor told me we could have it if we wanted. So I guess we now have a pet turkey!

A wild suprise!

I went to go collect the eggs from the coop after work today, and as I was going around the corner there was a turkey! I ran and got my camera as fast as I could. When I got back it was still there walking around with my chickens. I've never been that close to a wild turkey before! I think it's wild, because I don't think any of our neighbors have pet turkeys.

EASTER'S BIRTH!

These are not very good pictures, because the incubator dome was foggy from the chick breathing and the moisture from it's egg. The first picture is a tiny little hole in the egg that started out at about 8 O' Clock this morning. Every once in awhile you could see it's beak poking up through the hole. The next picture is when he came out of the egg at about 2:00. It was the neatest thing I had ever seen. The chick is doing really well now in his new home, which you can see in the video. I named it Easter, because it is a miracle baby chick and it was born 3 days before Easter! This was a really exciting day! Thanks Dana for thinking of such a good name for this special baby chick! HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!
